Fitzgerald Family Farm - Cows
The cows on the Fitzgerald Family Farm are predominantly Holstein Friesian with a high EBI. Average weight is around 590kg with a maintenance sub index of 9. They are a very young herd with 50% of them are first and second lactations. The EBI of the herd at the moment is 144 and 211 for the young stock. The young stock on the farm are the highest genetic animals. The plan going forward is produce 520 kg milk solids by maturing the herd and improving the genetics in the herd #SustainableDairyIreland
