Ok, Time to get going with the Stone-Brick Veneer project EP 1.

Short Video of the full Veneer Project https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WTUJ2EWsi8
This is the detailed version of the stone veneer project part ONE. Here I begin by getting the durock up & doing a few scratch coat, stone veneer mortar samples...

The plan is to eventually install a wood burning stove in the shop. Before I can begin that project due to building codes & clearance issues I needed to come up with a way to reduce the clearance on the back so the stove can be 12" from combustable material which are the wooden studs on the back wall. To do that code requires an air pocket between the combustable wall & a stone false wall. Thats where the metal studs came in to play. I figured out a design I liked & one that would work for the budget & look great in the workshop. I chose to use these nice looking stone pavers as the brick veneer because I already had them & I really liked the way it would look if I can succeed in the installation. I became fond of the funky color difference between the stove & the bricks. I really dig it tremendously. Its a nice focal point.
Part 2 on the way.
If you'd like another fun project I did check out the log firewood shed I built from logs I got in the woods. Heres part 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXTHoPHHaEI
Ok, it doesn't usually get colder then 15 degrees here but thats cold enough to stop me from doing anything but shiver. You people up north & back easy, wow I don't know how you do it.
