🚀 Google Supercharges Gemini AI with Real-Time Camera, Screen Sharing & Deeper App Integrations.
At Google I/O 2025, Google unveiled major upgrades to its Gemini AI app—bringing it closer to becoming a fully integrated, real-time digital assistant.
Starting this week, Gemini Live is rolling out its camera and screen-sharing features to all users on iOS and Android. Powered by Project Astra, the update enables near-instant voice conversations with Gemini while streaming your phone’s camera or screen to the AI.
Imagine pointing your phone at a building in a new city and asking Gemini about its history—and getting an answer in seconds.
More is coming: Gemini Live will soon connect directly with Google Maps, Calendar, and Tasks, allowing users to get directions, schedule events, or create to-do lists with a single prompt.
These updates are part of Google’s strategy to stay ahead in the AI assistant race—challenging OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Apple’s Siri. The stakes are high: Google announced that Gemini now has over 400 million monthly active users.
To further expand its reach, Google introduced two new premium AI plans:
• Google AI Pro – $20/month (formerly Gemini Advanced)
• Google AI Ultra – $250/month, offering high usage limits, early model access, and exclusive tools
Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. (with Chrome set to English) will also get Gemini built directly into Chrome, enabling it to summarize or explain web content in real time.
Google is also evolving Deep Research, Gemini’s AI for long-form insights. Users can now upload private PDFs and images, which the model will cross-reference with public data. Gmail and Drive integrations are coming next.
Meanwhile, free users get access to Imagen 4, an upgraded image-generation model with sharper text output. Ultra subscribers will also unlock Veo 3, a next-gen video model capable of generating scenes with synchronized native audio.
Finally, Google has made Gemini 2.5 Flash the default model—promising faster, smarter, and more responsive answers.
For students, Gemini now offers custom quizzes and learning plans that adapt to weak areas—helping users learn smarter, not harder.
