Before news broke of the Gabby Petito family lawsuit claiming Brian Laundrie's parents Roberta and Chris knew Brian killed Gabby, tried helping him flee U.S. I had pre taped an exclusive interview with Retired FBI Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer, where she explains a theory that Brian Laundrie might not have taken that last fatal shot alone. In January, the FBI released its final investigative update on the murder of Gabby Petito, in which it was revealed that Brian Laundrie, Petito’s fiancé, confessed in a notebook, before he took his own life. No other individuals other than Laundrie were directly involved in Petito’s death, the FBI’s investigation found.

However now a civil case has been filed by the Petitos against the Laundries.

On Sept. 12, 2021, the FBI opened its investigation into Petito’s disappearance. A week later, Petito’s remains were found on Sept. 19 2021 at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area where she and Laundrie had last been seen together.
