Although Omega and it's Speedmaster is what we think off when speaking of space watches, thanks to the fact it was the watch worn to the moon in 1969. there are other watches that may not have been a part of the moon landing, but were very much a part of the space and military history. One such watch is the Sturmanskie 31659. One of the best kept secrets of the watch world. A watch that you had to earn by graduating as a Soviet military pilot. So although it was not strapped to the wrist of Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin, it is still remarkably cool as this watch in this version with this movement was never offered to the public for sale making it one of the coolest watches you can own.
It was also used in space by Soviet cosmonauts and even the first space tourist, a Japanese journalist.
It uses a 31659 movement, which is a modified 3133 movement with added hacking function to make it easy to synchronise watches before missions.
Sturmanskie as a brand was also the first watch worn in space by Juri Gagarin, by may sources
I hope you enjoy the video :)
