Christian Louboutin is a French fashion designer whose high-end stiletto footwear incorporates shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature.[6] Initially a freelance designer for fashion houses, he started his own shoe salon in Paris, with his shoes finding favor with celebrity clientele. He has partnered with other organizations for creative projects including limited edition pieces, gallery exhibits, and a custom bar. His company has since branched out into men's footwear, handbags, fragrances and makeup.

One of the most important aspect to check for a Louboutin shoe is the red sole.

An authentic Christian Louboutin sole is made of leather and is smooth in texture. It’s painted a unique shade of red which makes it very difficult to copy.

As seen on the fake images, the red shade is completely different and can sometimes have a pattern on it. Many fakes have plastic soles even though it says it is made of leather.

The logo on the sole should be deeply embossed and not printed. The details that need to be included on the sole the Christian Louboutin logo, ‘MADE IN ITALY’ and the European size ex. 38.

Believe it or not, you cannot tell whether a Louboutin is authentic or not just by looking at the colour of the soles! First because the look of the red soles changed over de years and second because Louboutin shoes are handmade and manufactured in different factories. Therefor the soles
of an authentic pair of Louboutins can be orangey red, lipstick red, deep red and everything in between! However, all Louboutin heels have red soles that are made from leather and not plastic and therefor should look glossy. NOTE: just because the red soles are marked as leather (and YES some older authentic Louboutin models have a Vero Cuoio stamp! (leather marking) doesn’t mean it is leather.
Christian Louboutin: The loop of the “L” must almost touch the rest of the “L”. However, most replica’s have a notasible space in between. As I already said: Louboutins are handmade in different factories and therefor can have different fonts!

Besides the shininess, you can notice how the fake Louboutin spikes sneakers have some scratches on the sole inscription, and the authentic one doesn’t.

Of course, this spot is more reliable for unworn shoes, or slightly worn shoes, more likely to be worn indoors or just once.

A real Louboutin has a logo printed into the insole, it also may have the word ‘Paris’ below. Check the original logo and ensure that the font is the same. The print should not be smeared, overlapped or thick. The insole should be neat with no gaps where joining the shoe upper. Generally, authentic Christian Louboutin insoles should be neat and precise. Having an insole with two different types of leather is an easier way to check this.
