King Alexander III
After heroically saving King Alexander III of Scotland from being gored by a stag in 1263, Colin Mackenzie of Kintail of the Clan Mackenzie was granted the use of the stag's head - a '12 pointer' or 'Royal' - for his coat of arms. This proud emblem still adorns every bottle of The Dalmore, as a symbol of this bravery and daring spirit.
