American singer-songwriter Martika (Full name: marta Marrero) was born in May 18, 1969 in Whittier, CA, United States. She satrted her musical career on the TV show 'Kids Incorporated' for 3 seasons (1984, 1985, 1986). In 1988 she released her debut album 'Martika' which sold 5 million copies worldwide and was certified platinum in the U.S. and U.K. The single 'Toy Soldiers' became her biggest hit in 1989, peaking at No'1 in the U.S., No'1 5 in the UK, and went Top-5 in 13 countries worldwide. In the UK she had 4 Top-20 hits in total, and another Top 10 hit in both UK & US charts: 'Love...Thy Will Be Done" that was written and produced by Prince.
