White Coat Ceremony 2019

The White Coat Ceremony is a joyous and important occasion for incoming medical students, signifying their entrance into the medical profession. In the presence of their family, friends and loved ones, the newly enrolled class will be introduced to the Yale School of Medicine community in a ceremony that has marked the beginning of medical school for many years. Dean Robert Alpern opens the Ceremony and welcomes the new class. Each student is then called to the stage individually to be “coated” by senior faculty members. Finally, Dr. Nancy Angoff, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, will lead the Class in a recitation of the Human Relations Code of Conduct, which is a powerful statement of the School’s commitment to important personal and professional values. The White Coat Ceremony took place on Monday, August 12th.
