Canoe Trolling Motor Mount

After the tiresome upstream canoe trips with our aircraft carrier of a canoe, I decided to buy a trolling motor and build a mount to attach it to our canoe. This isn't intended to be the only source of forward motion for our trips, just help counteract the current for us.

I went with the Minn Kota Endura C2 motor. 30" shaft and 30 pound thrust.

The 12volt battery is a Marine Battery from Advance Auto Parts.

In this video, I show you the up close dimensions of the side mount for my canoe. The measurements should be similar for your canoe with some adjustments as necessary.

I've used this setup on one river trip and the battery lasted the 3 hours of run time on Speed Setting 4. Didn't show any signs of slowing.
