Pakistan election: government accused of suppressing turnout
In Pakistan, mobile phone services were suspended throughout the entire country today as voters cast their ballots in an election which has been dominated by an unprecedented crackdown on the party of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The blackout sparked criticism from opposition parties who say the government was trying to suppress turnout.
Authorities say it was necessary for security reasons.
