First Sail! Restoring a 1967 30-foot Sailboat - Time Lapse - Ep. 2

Despite work remaining unfinished, Jake and I took a spontaneous first sail in the Free Spirit, followed by a day sailing with Samantha and Cadie when we caught our first real weather. The camera malfunctioned, unfortunately, but our 8 knots of wind soon gusted over 20 and we had to take down all the sails and motor in for calmer waters.

I then taped and painted the bow deck with non-skid, returning the next day to brush and reclaim the Soft Sand particles. Meanwhile, Cadie spearheaded the boat cushion project, churning out a couple with professional quality. Finally, Jake has finished sanding the cabin and lays down the first coat of primer inside.
