BMW N62 Starter Motor Location and Replacement DIY 🛠️

BMW N62 engine starter motor location is on left side of the engine below the intake manifold. If you need to replace BMW N62 starter motor considerate that it is bolted to the transmission with two of the transmission bolts holding engine and transmission together, so setup is bolt head, through transmission, through engine, into starter. Starter motor location is at the back of the N62 engine, between bottom of cylinder head and exhaust manifold. Starter motor has a heat shield around it with two bolts holding that to the starter. Also connections on BMW N62 starter motor are very tight, take your time and don't brake any of the plastic parts and clips. There are few video tutorials showing different ways to replace it, but I think that is the fastest and easiest way to replace the starter motor on N62 engines.
