Is there a gene for language?

When asked what sets humans apart from other animals, the ability to read, write, and speak ranks high on the list. Many of humankind's greatest triumphs stemmed from our ability to communicate complex ideas and share information. From where did this ability originate? What makes us different from our other ape relatives? Genome biologist Ed Green reveals that scientists may have found the key to language hidden in our DNA.
