Who killed Sharif Usman Hadi? This question has shaken Bangladesh, triggering widespread unrest and violent protests. The truth is that no confirmed answer has yet emerged. Hadi was a controversial and hardline student leader associated with Inquilab Mancha, known for his anti-India rhetoric, incendiary speeches, and radical Islamist ideology. He played a key role in the July–August 2024 student movement, which eventually led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

Hadi was known for mobilizing youth onto the streets, delivering fiery speeches, and raising slogans of an “Islamic revolution.” On December 12, 2025, he was shot by unidentified attackers outside a mosque in Dhaka. He was later airlifted to Singapore for treatment but died on December 18.
