Russian Song Ensemble - CWRU - Chastushki Pandemic Style - December 2020

Russian Song Ensemble (Case Western Reserve University) - directed by Terry Boyarsky. A modern-day English interpretation of Russian Chastushki. Class taught on Zoom; final project, created by virtual choir. Thank you, Oleg Kruglyakov, for creating the balalaika ostinato.

3. The virus prompts large effects, you think you have earned respect? You fool we did not re-elect, now those are facts you can't deflect!
4. To all the ladies, make sure you're wearing shoes. She shattered the glass ceiling, this time we didn't lose!
5. Out in public with no mask, safety’s clearly a hard task, too busy with his ego, commander-in-chief can’t multi-task!
6. Pleading with my heart, stay six feet apart. Starting to get blue - school I bid you adieu!
7. With a woman veep of color and a jewish 2nd spouse, all Americans will be welcome again in the White House!
8. Day by day, & week to week, it all gets more bizarre, I'd rather stand on just one foot & learn to play guitar!
9. Taking classes all on line, school and zoom should not combine. Teachers choose now to assign so much work - we’re doing fine!
