India should re-engage with Pakistan without giving up its demands in order to avoid having a live and hostile border in the West as well as in the North even as he believes that by doing the latest border standoff at the LAC with India, China did not gain anything for itself, former Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran told ThePrint’s Nayanima Basu in an interview.
