8:53 D&C 81. Revelation given to a counselor in the first presidency, first to Jesse Gause then to Frederick G. Williams. The counsel may be applied to all who serve in a presidency. The greatest good we can do is to follow the prophet, be faithful, succor the weak, lift up the hands that hang down, strengthen the feeble knees.

In 400 BC, the Greeks introduced a focus on the individual or “I” mindset. These verses of scripture suggest a return to the collective mindset to establish Zion by forgetting self and serving others. Cross reference with Moses 7:18.
31:47 D&C 82. The Lord acknowledges the Saints forgiveness of each other and forgives them of their trespasses (see verse 1). What does it mean to forgive?
36:05 Verse 3. “Unto whom much is given much is required”. We are not to compare ourselves with each other. If one is given greater capacity than another, the Lord will judge based on potential.
42:59 Verses 4-7. We are accountable for the revelations we have been given. Everyone needs the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Hebrew meaning of Atonement is “to cover somebody like in a holy garment”.
46:19 Verses 8-9. Why do we need commandments? How are commandments a gift?
48:55 Verse 10. “I the Lord am bound when ye do what I say.” The metaphor of the sun illustrates our responsibility to enjoy the blessings of the warmth and light of the sun by going outside. We can liken this metaphor to the love of God that is always there.
52:16 Verse 14. Zion must arise and increase in beauty. Cross reference with Isaiah 52:1-2. This instruction is to be applied both personally and to the church collectively.
56:48 Verses 15-20 What does it mean to strengthen stakes and enlarge borders? Building up Zion requires us to help each other and to seek the interest of our neighbor.
1:06:49 Verses 22-24. When we make friends with our enemies, we have destroyed our enemy. The word enemy means someone who is not yet my friend.
1:12:20 D&C 83. How and why to care for women and children when a husband dies.
1:14:34 The cause of Zion and the gathering of Israel runs counter to modern world culture of individualism, but it is in line with the straight and narrow path to become like God.
