Weirton Steel

Weirton Steel rail operations as seen in April 1989. The majority of their Alco switcher fleet had been replaced by ex-P&LE SW1500s but a few S-2s were still in service on the hot metal trains hauling molten iron from the blast furnaces to the B.O.F. Alcos were also in use on the slag trains. Ore trains from Cleveland are shown arriving and departing behind CR GP38s. A video feast with as many as 4 movements in the same frame at one time.
