Diving with Sharks in the Dominican Republic!

I went diving with sharks in the Dominican Republic with my dad back in October this year, and made this video to share the experience with you guys! Hope you enjoy.

About the Caribbean reef shark and references:
Despite common myth the Caribbean Reef shark - and sharks in general - are very rarely the cause of harm to humans. Them coming close is mostly just an expression of curiosity, and people do unfortunately pose a much larger threat to sharks, than they do to us. It shows with species like the Reef shark currently being on the IUCN’s endangered-list (https://www.iucnredlist.org/species/60217/3093780) due to overfishing and degradation of coastal and marine habitats such as coral reefs. In the Caribbean, ecotourism plays a large role in conserving the species and their natural habitats, and that’s why diving companies like @reefezsharkz are crucial in the effort to prevent this beautiful creature from eventually going extinct. Ecotourism helps debunk ridiculous misconceptions, promotes education and serves as an important incentive to keep the sharks alive and protected, rather than killed to be sold off for parts at international markets.
The guys at @reefezsharkz (among one of which is my dad, Eugene, who has over 40 years of diving experience), are among some of the best in the world at what they do!
