VAR Audio RELEASED - Premier League, PGMOL, Liverpool, & Luis Diaz disallowed Goal

Premier league and PGMOL release official VAR audio from Luis Diaz's disallowed goal vs Tottenham.

The referees' body PGMOL has released a statement and audio explaining the process leading to the incorrect offside decision against Luis Diaz in Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool on Saturday.

The VAR team checked every aspect of the goal and correctly identified that Diaz was onside. However, in a lapse of concentration, the VAR lost sight of the on-field decision and incorrectly communicated "check complete", therefore inadvertently confirming the on-field decision.

The VAR and AVAR concluded that the VAR protocol would not permit them to stop the game at that point, and so intervention was not possible.

PGMOL also issued a statement apologising for the error and acknowledging that standards fell short of expectations. They have submitted a detailed report to the Premier League, who have shared it with Liverpool FC and subsequently all other Premier League Clubs.
