So... I decided for no particular reason - no one's birthday or Christmas wishlist, no contest or other crazy reason - to just make a Clana video! I was in the mood. :D

(I have been having fun with vidding Smallville still as I host the ViddersofSteel collab group and Clana is still totally my OTP. Everyone kept vidding this song lately, and it just *screamed* Clana to me. And it's pretty catchy/addictive lol. That quote from the chorus above especially rang true to me - people who hate my beloved ship often cite all their drama as a reason, because it really is true that Lana KEPT wanting him to let her in on his secret and he spent most of the show NOT, and that led to a lot of poor Lana with a completely broken heart. :P)

(Also - is anyone excited that Kristin Kreuk's current show, Beauty & The Beast, returns tomorrow night? It's been moved to Mondays on the CW. Or in Canada (on the channel "Showcase"), it will air a day early, I just found out. So tonight. And Tom Welling's new movie Parkland that he APPEARS in, yes, as an ACTOR once again since Smallville haha, just was released this past Friday, on October 4th. I'm happy for both of them.)

This video is all Lana's point of view, and I tried my best to make a relatively "unique" Clana video using undervidded (less frequently used) scenes and stuff at times. I don't know. I hope you all like it and I hope that it's not too similar to other Clana videos you've seen, especially my latest 2 ones from earlier this year (my "The Scientist" and "Red" videos).

I tried to follow all of the lyrics. I interpret the song as there being a lot of chemistry right from the start, and passion, and falling in love despite themselves - with Lana sometimes ignoring the risk she was posing to her own heart and how likely it was it'd get broken (closing her eyes) because she wanted to be happy with Clark so badly. She also wanted to break his walls that badly, and tried with all of her might (the metaphorical "wrecking ball") to be let in on his secrets. But in the end, she was the one who got broken/wrecked.

I interpreted the verse that goes:

"I put you high up in the sky
And now, you're not coming down
It slowly turned, you let me burn
And now, we're ashes on the ground"

to mean Lana always knew Clark was kind of a perfect hero, and she really did put him up on a pedestal because of it - and once she was let in on his secret and knew just how amazing this one-day-to-become-Superman really was, she ended up leaving him because of not wanting to hold him back - he's not coming down at all, not back to her. Also when she found out his secret the first time, she died because of knowing, so Clark turned back time and would rather them just end up broken up instead of him "letting her burn" again.

I think the bridge of the song is powerful too, and the "I guess I should've let you win" with how "not meant to be" they were, even after 8 seasons of trying, really rang true. Lana realized, in the end, that she should have given up ages ago.

Anyway... I had fun with this video and I really hope you all enjoy it.
