--Poth Gulla Educational Contribution--

Poth Gulla is a you tube channel which initialized in 2020. It is a channel that addresses to peoples’ mind and awake the zest of people, while presenting content reading of selected books written by eminent authors, Film review, Psychological theories and its practical uses and current global issues. As a fan you might be amazed by some videos have been uploaded by me for few weeks. Obviously, I was requested to add something related to social science subjects are being taught in Schools, Colleges and monasteries in Sri Lanka. Then I selected one of practical social science subjects named “Civic Education” is being taught in Sri Lankan School curriculum. Civic Education is a subject that has a contemporary value and discusses on some political concepts such as Human Rights, Evolution of State concept, Sovereignty, Court System, Legislature, Executive Presidency, Law and political behavior of public”. Civic Education is a subject that has been introduced for school curriculum but have less interest and no more weight up on privet classes. As well more students select this subject for their ordinary level examination in Sri Lanka because of the lack of awareness of the practical value of this subject. As an initiative step, I actuated to upload Civic education videos for all sri Lankan students who have an interest on this subject. As well , you are invited to watch these Civic Education videos and learn everything what you need to know when you live as a responsible civilian.

In the long history of civilization, man used to live together with a view of
facilitating the fulfillment of his basic needs. With the gradual development of society, the need arose for an organized system of governance to facilitate weal of society and protection of law and order. Accordingly, various countries have practised different methods of governance to rule them. Monarchism, (federal) aristocratic system, and democratic governance can be cited as examples. At present, most countries including
Sri Lanka have implemented democratic governance.
