Automatrics MTrack Theft Recovery Operation - Stolen Concrete Pump - 8th May 2019

Customer calls us after the Bank Holiday Weekend to report their 50K Putzmeister Concrete Pump as stolen. What seemed strange is that they were 100% sure they armed the Automatrics MTrack motion sensor using their remote control to before they left site. That meant it should have alarmed into our systems if there was any illegal motion detection, but we failed to receive any motion alarms. We also tried to connect to the theft recovery tracking device remotely but it simply failed to connect. In this situation we would normally have to wait for the unit to connect when it was in a good signal area.

However, as this machine was so valuable and with the theft site being only about an hour from our offices we thought we should travel to the area to investigate further. We knew that the tracking unit had it tripped into motion alarm that it would still at certain times transmit its RF signal for us to have a chance to detect. That meant we had the possibility to still find the machine even without the device connecting into our server.
