Brexit: Tony Blair and John Major take a swipe at Boris Johnson! (4k)

So, Creepy, Crawley and Creaky are back, sticking their oars into Brexit.

First, it was Theresa May, and now we have John Major and Tony Blair entering the fray by lecturing Boris Johnson on his plans to unilaterally 'rectify' the Withdrawal Agreement Treaty.

All three talking about the reputation of the UK being trashed.

And I'll leave it up to you to decide which one of them is creepy, which one is Crawley and which one is Creaky.

A trio of basically pro-EU former Prime Ministers horrified at the thought that the UK might actually manage to break free of the shackles that they either locked the UK into or attempted to lock us into.

All three seemed to be content that Brexit was progressing using the defective Withdrawal Agreement Treaty. But once it became apparent to them that Boris had cottoned on to the potential problems and was doing something about it - wham! In they come.

Throwing themselves out of the pram, they march about the nursery demanding that the UK stay firmly locked in the playpen wearing a nappy.

And completely ignoring the veiled EU threats to blockade Northern Ireland, they round on the person trying to save the UK from being torn asunder by a foreign power.

And I do also wonder if, for them, it's as personal as it is about being a Europhile.

Maybe, on top of the Brussels angle, they're petrified of Boris taking a political wrecking ball and demolishing in a few short months something they spent decades tying us into?

That history will push them into the shadow of Boris.

Remember, all three of them have the Blue with gold stars running through them like a stick of seaside rock.

Now, the UK has said it is taking action via the Internal Market Bill to defend itself against an EU that looks set to use an extreme interpretation of the provisions in the Irish border Protocol to force the UK to cave in to its demands.

And this comes after the EU hinted that it would do so.

But the UK has said that we would be reasonable and check some goods that are at risk of going south over the Irish border into the single market.

But the EU said no, it could classify everything as 'at risk'. And even stop us providing Northern Ireland with food.

That's why we have to take action by enacting the laws in the UK Internal Market Bill.

Speaking with Sky's Sophy Ridge, the Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor, Tory MP Robert Buckland, said that these provisions are a fall back insurance policy and not something the UK wants to use. Something put in place to ensure the EU could not blockade Northern Ireland.

But, now we suddenly have the Irish foreign minister, Simon Coveney on the Andrew Marr show today saying that the EU has no intention of cutting Northern Ireland away from the rest of the UK.
