2014 BMW i3 Heated Seat Repair How To

The driver's heated seat stopped working. Here's how we fixed it.
We bought a new seat base foam which had the heating element attached to it.
I hope you find this useful. By the way most car seats are fitted in a very similar way and the heating elements can be tested also once you have worked out which plugs they are. Some manufacturers will even sell the element part separately so this can be a cheap repair.
I reckon we knelt on our seat and split the heating element whilst cleaning the car - beware of kneeling on heated seats :-)
