When the Spanish Conquistadors first arrived to Colombia they embarked on the Magdalena river in the hunt for the famous El Dorado looting indeginous gold along the way. Now 500 years later there's a new gold rush. Illegal mines have sprung up along the Magdalena causing massive devastation to the Environment.
