Bloomberg | Why the SpaceX IPO Is a Catalyst for the Entire Space Economy

Chad Anderson, Founder and CEO of Space Capital, joined Bloomberg's The Close to make the case that at $1.8 trillion, SpaceX is not a mature company being priced on yesterday's revenue, it is a growth story being priced on the infrastructure of the future.

The xAI acquisition, far from a drag on valuation, is central to the AI thesis. The launch capability that makes it look easy is anything but. And the capital efficiency argument is stark: SpaceX has done more with roughly $9 billion in capital than Blue Origin has done with more than twice that, and SpaceX is still a decade ahead in launch capability.

The GPS playbook puts it in perspective. Twenty-four satellites generated trillions in economic value. There are 18,000 satellites in orbit today, and 2 million will be launched by 2040. Half of those are companies beyond SpaceX, all building on the same orbital layer.
