There Is Only ONE Way To Fix Your BMW! | BMW F15 X5 DIY

In this video I show you how I fixed my 2014 BMW X5 with the N55 engine. I was getting only one code for my check engine light which was P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold). A generic scan tool was basically telling me I needed to change my catalytic converter. The car has about 110K miles and that seemed a little premature to me.

I show you the power of using a proper diagnostics tool like ISTA-D. It told me to look at my primary O2 sensor before I look any further. Even though I do not have a check engine light at all for my upstream oxygen sensor.

If you do not have access to ISTA you can use MHD with a D Can cable and an on the go adapter. The code reading functionality of MHD is free!
