In this exclusive video, you meet Dr. Puru Dhawan who talks about the mistakes that must be avoided by Paralysis patients at all costs. Let us walk you through some of the things you need to look out for.

Smoking: sometimes it becomes difficult for us to tell patients that it is crucial to stop smoking in order to avoid further risks of stroke or Paralysis recurrence. Smoking increases the risk of clotting in the blood vessels or nerves, which further adds to the risk of Paralysis or Stroke. And thus, patients are recommended to try and quit it. Go on to hear from dr. Dhawan whet is the best way to overpower your craving to smoke.

Alcohol: The second mistake that patients make is consuming alcohol, which can further generate brain activity and reaction. This can slow the improvement and in some cases, even relapse into the initial point.

High Blood Pressure: It is a known cause of stroke and if you stop consuming yopur prescribed blood pressure medicines at any point in life, or do not take control and maintain a normal blood pressure, you may have to restart your recovery journey again. You can even have a Paralysis attack for the second time.

Dietary Changes: Some dietary changes are necessary (a balanced diet) but too many changes may affect the digestive system and drain out energy. After all, too much of anything can be extremely harmful.

Misunderstanding Exercises: Often, physiotherapists put a lot of effort in exercises - sometimes, more than the patients and that is where it goes all wrong. Patients need to put more effort than the ones assisting them - if they don't recovery can be very far. There has to be initiative to see results.
