Govt Refunds Ksh2 56B as Kenyans Opt Out of Affordable Housing

More Kenyans are opting out of the government's Affordable Housing savings programme, with refunds rising to Ksh2.56 billion by the end of June, according to new data from the State Department for Housing.

The figures reveal that while billions have been saved through the Boma Yangu platform, a significant number of contributors have chosen to withdraw their money.

The government says the refunds are provided for under the law and do not indicate the programme is failing.
