Where A.I. can really become dangerous to us. A talk with Nobel laureate Kazuo Ishiguro

'Klara and the Sun' is the first novel written by Japanese-British author Kazuo Ishiguro since he received the 2017 Literary Nobeis. It's a novel set in a not-too-distant future where artificial intelligence is dramatically changing our everyday lives. But of course, Ishiguro is not writing just another science fiction story about AI. It's also about all-too-human issues. In an interview with DW Books, Ishiguro talks about whether he's afraid of robots, what worries him - and why he writes song lyrics for a jazz singer.

Kazuo Ishiguro is one of Britain's most important writers. What makes his books so exciting is that he never writes the same thing (even if his characters are all outsiders in some way). Sometimes a historical novel, sometimes a look into the future. His best-known work: 'The Remains of the Day'.
