What to Expect When Animal Kingdom Opens

Once Disney World parks begin the reopening process, there will obviously be some need for changes so that the health and safety of guests can be ensured. Disney will be required to sanitize ride vehicles, alter the way food is served and ensure that guests maintain a 6ft distance from others.

This will have an impact on the way the guests experience a park visit, so in this video we'll discuss 5 areas that may be of issue. Queue length could be the first noticeable change as the requiring of 6 feet between parties will extend the length significantly.

At restaurants, distancing will also effect lines when waiting to check in at the podium or to place orders at the cook carts or counter service locations. At rope drop, Disney will need to find a way to deal with the large gatherings of people waiting to enter the park and to do away with the 2nd rope drop into Pandora - World of Avatar.

Entertainment, in the form of theater shows, street performers and Rivers of Light, will not be operational. It will be interesting to see if Disney will find a way to add entertainment that adds atmosphere but avoids gathering a crowd.
The main issue that will likely be effected is, wait times for attractions. Sanitizing ride vehicles could extend the amount of time needed in loading the next guests, thereby decreasing the hourly ride capacity.
It will be interesting to see how Disney chooses to tackle some of these issues. I'm sure they will find a creative solution.
