Against All Odds: Choral Singing in a Pandemic | 11.22.2020

Presenting a wide variety of choral repertoire performed by MSU Chorale members. The chamber choir ensemble of 15 graduate students recorded performances in the Kellogg Center Parking Ramp and in the seating area of Fairchild Theater with appropriate social distancing, masks, and protective eye-wear. The choir is conducted by graduate students Carter Smith, Jennifer Heder, Jack Rifkin, and Liza Maidens.

Excerpts from Buxtehude “Jesu, meine freude”
Excerpts from Haydn “Missa brevis in F”
Excerpts from Beethoven “Elegischer Gesang” with string ensemble
Mendelssohn “There Shall a Star”
Jeffrey Van “A Procession Winding Around Me” for choir and guitar
Ernst Bloch “Silent Meditation and Response” from Sacred Service
“An Erev shel Shoshanim” (An Evening of Roses) arr by Jack Klebanow
