Come Sail Away (Live) - Styx (Drum Cover) [Part 4]

I made these live Styx covers as a tribute to one of my favorite bands, and favorite drummers. I'm always impressed by Todd Sucherman's incredibly musical approach to drumming. His drum parts never seem too invasive, but at the same time bring an overwhelming sense of intensity and focus to the music. 

I've always had a great deal of respect for everyone in Styx, but now that I've really analyzed and taken in a large portion of one of their shows, it's really astounding as to how "tight" they actually are as a band. You can really tell how aware everyone is of what's going on around them.

I saw Styx perform this set live and it was absolutely incredible. It was possibly the best concert I've ever been to. The mix was great, the band was on fire, and my sister even got to play Tommy Shaw's guitar at the end of "Come Sail Away!"

This series of videos marks a very important occasion in my life as I filmed this literally days before I moved to Los Angeles to attend school at the Musician's Institute in the drum program. I'm a few months in and absolutely loving it!
