How To Install a Quik Shade Screen | Phifer Inc.

Today we're going to install a Phifer Quik Shade Screen kit on an apartment complex balcony. The tools you'll need for this project are a tape measure, a serrated knife or a hacksaw, a roll of masking tape, and a pair of scissors.
The first step in this process is to measure the width of your opening. Next, you want to measure your screen three inches narrower than the width of your opening and mark it with a piece of masking tape on both ends. Next, you want to apply a piece of masking tape from both measurements from end to end and make sure that you extend the masking tape well beyond the screen to help hold it in place. Next, you want to cut the screen along the masking tape from end to end. Once you've cut your screen down to the desired width, you then need to cut your plastic rod cover and Velcro all the way around the tube. After this is completed, just remove the excess cover. Next, insert the rod into the screen pocket. Apply your end caps to both ends, and then turn your rod down to where there's a two-inch gap between your end cap and your plastic cover.
To install the screen, you put the adjustable end to your top left. Press and then slide the other end in the top right. To install the bottom rod, you just roll the screen to your desired height, place the adjustable end at the bottom right. Push and then slide the bottom left into position. Now, you have successfully installed Phifer's Quik Shade Screen.
In addition to this apartment balcony we showed you today, Phifer's Quik Shade Screen is handy for many other applications. Some of these include standard home windows, porches, portable awnings on RVs, boathouse shades, and even as a screen to keep the birds away. All you need is a framed opening and a few minutes to install it. If you can put up a shower curtain on a tension rod, you will have no problem installing Phifer's Quik Shade Screen.
