What is the inverse square law?
If you're not a fan of math, you're not alone. When I went through film school, I was the first one to google 'inverse square law for dummies'!

But once you understand what is the inverse square law of light, it will be an incredibly valuable tool that you will use time and time again over the course of your filmmaking and photography career. This rule applies to both film lighting as well as sound recording.

Today you'll learn a simple, practical formula so you wont need an inverse square law calculator anymore! I'll also show you a practical inverse square law example, when this rule saved my butt on a shoot for a client!
