The Hippodrome of Constantinople
Once the social and sporting heart of ancient Byzantium, the Hippodrome was a grand arena for chariot races and public gatherings. While little of it remains today, key monuments like the Obelisk of Theodosius still stand as a reminder of its former glory.

Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque)
Built in the early 17th century, the Blue Mosque is famed for its six minarets and its stunning blue Iznik tiles that line the interior. It remains an active place of worship and a symbol of Ottoman elegance and architectural mastery.

Hagia Sophia
Originally built as a cathedral in 537 AD under Emperor Justinian I, Hagia Sophia later became a mosque, then a museum, and is now a functioning mosque again. This awe-inspiring structure reflects layers of Byzantine and Ottoman history, with its massive dome and intricate mosaics.

Basilica Cistern
Hidden beneath the city, this underground reservoir was constructed in the 6th century to store water for the Great Palace. The dimly lit columns and mysterious Medusa heads create a uniquely atmospheric experience unlike anything else in Istanbul.

Topkapi Palace – The Seat of the Ottoman Empire (15th–19th Century)
Construction began in 1460, shortly after the conquest of Constantinople in 1453. It served as the primary residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. The palace complex covers over 700,000 square meters and consists of four main courtyards and numerous smaller buildings, including kitchens, mosques, armories, and stables.

Dolmabahçe Palace – A Symbol of Ottoman Modernization (Mid-19th Century)
Completed in 1856, Dolmabahçe was built to reflect the empire’s embrace of European influences, particularly the Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical styles. The palace cost the empire five million Ottoman gold lira (equivalent to billions today) and is adorned with 14 tons of gold and crystal chandeliers—including the world’s largest Bohemian crystal chandelier (weighing 4.5 tons).

Kadıköy
Kadıköy is a lively and artistic district on the Asian side of Istanbul, known for its bustling street life, vibrant cafes, and bohemian atmosphere. It’s a hub for local food markets, independent shops, and colorful murals — offering a more laid-back, authentic slice of daily Istanbul life.

Çamlıca Hill (Çamlıca Tepesi)
Çamlıca Hill is the highest point in Istanbul, providing panoramic views of the city, the Bosphorus, and both the European and Asian sides. It’s a peaceful escape with gardens, cafes, and scenic walking paths — perfect for watching the sunset over the skyline.

Çamlıca Mosque (Çamlıca Camii)
Çamlıca Mosque is the largest mosque in Turkey, completed in 2019. It blends modern design with classical Ottoman architecture. The mosque can accommodate over 60,000 worshippers and includes a museum, art gallery, and library, symbolizing Istanbul’s evolving spiritual and cultural identity.
