Rover P4 was introduced in 1949 and stayed on the market till 1964. The first introduced car was numbered as 75 models and exactly 50 years later Rover tried to drawback on this tradition in the 75 model presented in 1998.

P4 combined new: bodywork in modern design with old technology (frame-based construction) and tradition (high-quality materials, comfort and overall prestigious appearance). The nickname: "Auntie Rover" came not from the fact that only older Ladies might like these cars. In 1958 Denis Jenkins went with this car to... Marocco. After coming back he wrote that it behaved in this long and difficult journey like it would drive you to your Aunt to enjoy some tee together. So the name Auntie Rover stayed till today.
