How I Got Accepted Into Law School with a 2.4 GPA and Lessons Learned from My 1L Year

Kenny Vacharee is a 1L at North Carolina Central University. In January 2019, he took the LSAT after studying 6-8 hours every night while working a 3rd shift at a hotel. He applied to law school and sent an email to the admissions committee explaining why his grades in undergrad were bad (too much partying). In May 2019, his application was rejected, but he was invited to participate in a Performance-Based Admission Program with 50 other students to prove himself. Only half of the students were offered admission at the end of the program. In June 2019, he was accepted to NCCU and he finished his first semester with a higher GPA than he ever received in undergrad or high school. Kenny just finished his first year of law school and he shared some of the lessons he's learned from the admissions process and his 1L year.
