Land Clash in Dhenkanal! Villagers Protest Against Rungta Company

ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ ରୁଙ୍ଗଟା କମ୍ପାନୀର ସମ୍ପ୍ରସାରଣ ପାଇଁ ଜମି ଅଧିଗ୍ରହଣକୁ ନେଇ ଗ୍ରାମବାସୀଙ୍କ ଅସନ୍ତୋଷ। ଜମି ହରାଙ୍କ ଅଭିଯୋଗ ପରେ ହିନ୍ଦୋଳ ତହସିଲଦାରଙ୍କ ଉପସ୍ଥିତିରେ ଏକ ଜରୁରୀ ଶୁଣାଣୀ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୋଇଛି ।

A major land dispute has erupted in Dhenkanal district as villagers strongly protest against the proposed land acquisition for Rungta Company’s expansion project.

Tension has escalated in the Hindol area after villagers alleged that agricultural land, grazing land, cremation grounds, and even forest areas are being targeted for industrial expansion through IDCO.

According to villagers, the company had earlier acquired large areas of land in 2006 and 2013 with promises of proper rehabilitation and development facilities. However, they claim that many of those promises remain unfulfilled even today.

Now, villagers are opposing fresh acquisition plans, claiming that sacred and essential community land is being converted and transferred without proper consent.

A crucial hearing was conducted in the presence of the Hindol tehsildar after villagers submitted complaints to the district administration.
