London Pizza Festival 2023

The 2023 edition of the London Pizza Festival challenged the supremacy of the traditional Neapolitan style of pizza-in-the-round. Two pizzerias brought rectangular regional classics to the show:

Quadrata elevated the four-cornered base of pizza al taglio, the cherished slice of Rome, to its optimum crunch. Detroit Pizza London delighted homesick Americans and British converts alike with saucy Detroit squares. Cheese melted down the sides of each pie, encrusting its high walls with caramelised cheese.

Defending the pride of Naples were three of the UK’s very best pizzerias: 081 Pizzeria and Oi Vita in Islington.

There were no expert pizza judges at the Festival. Eveyrbody ate. Everybody voted.
