Rescuing a flying-fox on a shoe rack: this is Osgathorpe
Osgathorpe is an adult male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who crash landed in a courtyard and was unable to fly out.
He was extremely passive to catch, which leads me to believe that maybe he was a hand raised baby who has been in care and released previously. The other scanner is broken so I'll have to charge up my halo scanner and check out if he has a chip.
I thought he was just going to sink into a slump and die, but he's perked up a bit, ate all the mandarin I just put in his cage for later if he or the other bats were up to it, and demolished some grapes as well. He turned into an octopus on me, which gives me higher hopes for his survival.
Tonight he's hanging and eating, but he is a little wonky still and will be put down in a sling for the night. Let's see how he is in the morning.
