iOS 16.1.1 Battery Life / Battery Drain / Battery Performance Test. (Special version Dogme 95)

Hello everyone, and welcome to the iOS 16.1.1 battery performance video.

iOS 16.1.1 was released November 9th 2022

As I mentioned in the video. We had to go to the hospital with one of our puppies, and that prevented me from shooting the video the normal way, and have it out today, and since I am busy all weekend that would have delayed it until Monday or Tuesday next week. So I decided to shoot it Dogme 95 style, no tripods, just handheld, and just showing you the basics. The settings and the results. Sorry for this, but thought it would be better to have the results out there today, and not having to wait until next week. By the way.. The puppy is fine.

This video was shot 30 hours after iOS 16.1.1 was installed, so it had some time to settle in. I have seen many comments that it takes about a week for battery performance to optimize itself after an iOS update. I have always been skeptical of this statement as I have never personally had bad battery life right after I update. If I restore and download backup from iCloud well then that is another story. So I decided to run the battery test just 30 hours after I updated them this time. In that period they were left without power and then powered back to 100% to be
ready for the test to run.

Before the test was run the devices were set to 25% display brightness, auto brightness has been disabled, all devices use same settings, and are connected to the same access point.

How Geekbench works :

Geekbench 4 battery scores measure the battery life of a device when running processor-intensive applications. It provides a consistent workload to the device, and generates a Geekbench score by evaluating the amount of work that it is able to do while the battery is discharging and the amount of time it takes for the battery to discharge.

The battery benchmark can be run in Full Discharge mode, from 100% to 0% battery level, to provide a high level of confidence in a device's battery performance. The battery benchmark can also be run in Partial Discharge mode, for 3 hours. If the battery benchmark is stopped after 10 minutes, by the user or by the battery reaching 0%, then the result will be saved and can be uploaded. Battery benchmark scores gathered by any method except the Full Discharge mode provide a medium level of confidence in a device's battery performance, and longer tests are more reliable.

When comparing scores, remember that higher scores are better, and double the score indicates double the performance.
