Lawrence Leritz on "Broadway Beat"

Lawrence Leritz, as interviewed by Broadway Beat's Richard Ridge, discussing his choreography for the Off-Broadway hit, Boobs! The Musical, which features the songs of Ruth Wallis. Cast members are Robert Hunt and Rebecca Young.

Audiences will recognize Lawrence Leritz from his television appearances include the 2012 Comedy Central's Night Of Too Many Stars, performing in "Call Me Maybe" with Carly Rae Jepsen and Harvey Keitel at NY's historic Beacon Theatre. Films include Julie Taymor's musical Across The Universe and opposite Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau. Other television appearances includes Saturday Night Live, All My Children, talk shows including The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Maury, CNN's Show Biz Tonight and numerous commercials. Lawrence Leritz is also the star of the best selling exercise DVD, Total Stretch! with Lawrence Leritz.

Leritz appeared on Broadway in the Jerome Robbin's revival of Fiddler On The Roof, Fonteyn & Nureyev On Broadway and American Dance Machine. Lawrence was the producer and choreographer of the long running Off-Broadway smash hit, "Boobs! The Musical," which received unanimous rave reviews from all the major New York critics during the 2003-2004 season. Lawrence returned to the Triad Theatre, Oct.3, 2012, directing and producing Welcome Back Kotter's "Ron Palillo Tribute Celebration," hosted by Tyne Daly.

Lawrence began his career as an internationally acclaimed dancer working with the Who's Who of international dance: George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Alvin Ailey, Robert Joffrey, Ruth Page, John Neumeier, Tommy Tune and Sir Frederick Ashton, dancing with such major dance companies as The New York City Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, Chicago Ballet, Israel's Bat Dor Dance Company, Paris Opera and as guest artist throughout the world, including Placido Domingo's Los Angeles Music Center Opera.

As a Spectrum Records recording artist, Leritz scored a #1 dance hit single "Crank It Up" and recently headlined in Las Vegas at The Stardust Hotel.

Lawrence produces for television, including the annual television event, Day Of Compassion, for which Time Magazine honored Leritz as their Local Hero 1996 for his work. Leritz also choreographed the feature film musical "The Last Dragon", the mime duo Shields & Yarnell and for MTV.
