Indian Doctor-Turned-Filmmaker’s Short Film ‘Sunflowers Were The First Ones To Know’ Wins At Cannes

FTII student Chidananda S Naik's short film "Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know" won the La Cinef award for Best Short Film at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Made in four days, the 16-minute film is based on a Kannada folk tale about an old woman's theft of a rooster causing eternal darkness in her village.
