Part 3--Strategic-Level Risk Assessment for Fire Behavior Specialists: Relative Risk Assessment

In this section, we’ll introduce the Relative Risk Assessment, and the Fire Behavior Specialist’s role in completing it. The Fire Behavior Specialist is a user role in WFDSS that allows you access to the fire behavior programs. Fire Behavior Specialists are typically red-carded LTANs, FBANs or GSANs. As an active participant in this process, it’s critical that you understand the definition and application of each of the elements of the Relative Risk Assessment. If you are unfamiliar with the Relative Risk Assessment or need to review the definitions, more detailed information and instructions can be found in Appendix A of the Reference Supplement for this series of video lessons.
