[LP Bites] Terminal flower stalks

Let's Plant Bites!
Terminal flower stalks

Another bite-sized video update. This one is about terminal flower stalks.

It's still a mystery what causes them to "give up on life" and throw out a terminal flower stalk. This seems to happen randomly. It doesn't matter if the plant is young or old. I've had it happen on both.

When this happens to your plant, do not panic! If you leave the terminal stalk on, it will take a whole lot of time before it dries out, something to the order of at least several months. Once the flower stalk is completely dry, it also takes a lot of time until the rest of the stalk, where the pups are, to dry up. This means overall that you have more than enough time to deal with it however you want to (up to you if you want to include "grieving" in that list).

I would leave any pups on for as long as I can before I pluck them out. They would still grow the fastest while still on the larger plant. It would be a good idea to pull them out once the main stem has dried out until the nodes where the pups are attached to.

P.S.
I made a mistake in the first date - that should be March 2017!
