Why I would never drive in #dublin again #traveltips

10/10 would not recommend driving in Dublin and I’ve got a few reasons why.

If you want to see more of Ireland, renting a car is a great way to get around but it is not needed or recommended in Dublin.

🚙 street parking is expensive, they don’t use parking apps and parking tickets are basically extortion. They boot your car and you have to pay 125 euro to have it removed 🤯😫

🚙 many hotels in Dublin (and across Ireland) do not have on site parking garages. So you either have to find one nearby or street park (see notes above)

🚙 A lot of streets in central Dublin are transit (bus and taxi) only. You’ll literally have to cross the river and drive in circles just to cross back over for destination that’s less than 1 mile away.

Instead of driving I recommend:
🚌 using public transit, either the buses or trams. Both are easy to use through maps or Google maps

🚶 walk! Dublin is flat and very walkable, it’s usually just as fast or faster than taking the bus certain locations.

🚕 Uber works in Dublin! You can use it for black cars or taxis.
