As the temps began climbing into the 80’s during this Florida Winter Camping season we decided it was time for camping in the Florida Panhandle. We camped here in our van, a Winnebago Travato 59K. If you’ve never tried Florida camping then we think booking a site in one of the many Florida State Parks is the way to go. While it is true that they are often booked up, being persistent and flexible can land you a spot for a night or two and like us we think you’ll love it. There are a lot of Florida campgrounds to choose from but we love the seclusion and natural settings and Florida hiking. All these make a camping trip perfect for us. For this leg of our winter camping adventure we chose Ochlockonee River State Park and found it’s seclusion and hiking along the river to be a fun stop. We found this campground to be some of the best camping, if not the best, in the Florida Pandhandle. Along the way we also spent one night at Sopchoppy Florida’s Myron B Hodge City Park and loved it there too.
